Digi-Mattes
October 31st, 2006 by Benji Mast
I learned a technique (not complicated of course) for putting mattes on pictures from a wonderful magazine, called Outdoor Photographer.
Now, upon viewing this post, you are hereby obligated by the Party, to leave a comment stating your personal preference for the most ascetically pleasing color to border this particular photograph. The right answer is Red, and because since this is a communist state, the wrong answer with naturally will be followed up with re-education. This would involve labor camps, interrogation sessions with large men etc. If this does not secure a wise decsion on your part you will be set free… Tragically, immediately upon your release, you will suffer from one, and if necessary more that one, massive brain hemorrhage and die. So, no pressure whatsoever, its your free choice!
A Fairy’s Playground
In case you are wondering, I just read a couple of Phantastic novels by George McDonald. Hence, the inclusion of the small, mytholgical, beings in the title.

I like how the red one looks better, but if it brings Communism as we know it, than black. I do believe that Communism is a good form of government if used correctly and it benefits all people, but there will always be greedy people…. So it just won’t work…
As a side note/question was there dew on the leaves wet originally or did you apply it artificially? If so what did you use?
Yes, yes, I hear ya. I still state that Communism is a bad system because it doesn’t work for factors that some idealists ignore. (steps off soap box) The leaves are natutally wet from a several-hour drizzle.
Black is by far better. Way more “class”.
actually i think the black one is nicer!i dont really like that shade of red so maybe that influenced my opinion too.seeya~em
Definately red! ha! now you cant interrogate or imprison me!!!
Red. It brings out the true colors of the leaves and produces a sense of balance in the mind.
if we’re supposed to pick red, why give us the chioce of black??? that really puzzles me….. oh personally i like black better though i think what John said about red bringing the true colers of the leaves is true…
Agreed, red.
I like the black border better…
