I came to this site after seeing some pics on Hansmast.com, but to answer ITF's question, I have the Powershot S2, and I believe there are no real significant differences. Photoshop User Magazine (the official magazine of the National Association for Photoshop Professionals) said in its review of the S3 that if one already had the S2, one shouldn't waste money on the S3.

The only disadvantage, and I believe the S3 has the same issue, is that it doesn't allow you to shoot in RAW.

Oh, but the S3 comes in black and the S2 is silver. I'm pretty sure that the most significant difference Photoshop User found. :)

http://www.cs.ubc.ca/~mbrown/autostitch/autostitch.html is a good free program for making panoramas. Also I did get some software with my XT.

just curious, what program did you use for your panorama on the post below? Some canon software? when i bought my camera, it didn't come with any software and I've looked around for a good program for that that i could download, with no success.

Not really sure. If I remember right the S2 has 10x v 12x and 5mp v 6mp. And as far as image and lens quality, fps, and other features I am completely ignorant.
