Birds

Since I am not the, first-naturalist-photographer-second, that some claim to be, I don’t even know the names of these birds. If someone can identify them, they get first prize, a little smiley from me.
It was a pair of birds nesting on our front porch. I used my Vivitar 70-210 mm 2.8 for these. This particular lens is highly annoying because it won’t stop down. Evidently it doesn’t have a diaphragm. Also it focuses pretty slowly so I was forced to shoot a exceedingly small and fast subject, on a manual focus with a tiny depth of field. This yielded a very low ratio of decient shots to not. But praise be to digital, I was able to take a lot and get these…

They’re barn swallows. Most definitely barn swallows.
