Partridge, KS

A sleepy little town, in the heart of the state, at the heart of the nation. Everyone is involved with agriculture or knows someone who is. The people of Partridge are laid back. One exception might be a family who just moved in from Northern Virginia, who brought their hectic lifestyles and packed schedules along. They’re adjusting and seeing the upside to being laid-back, making time for ‘visiting’, and getting to know people.
I met Marion yesterday when I was weed-eating our ditch. He was out walking. Who knows why. I would have been driving; but if I would have been driving, I would have never met the young man who was out weed-eating. Our conversation didn’t last long. It was cordial. It was comfortable. It was laid-pack. He complemented my work. I was friendly with him. Our exchange left me feel a little more like I belonged, like we were beginning to fit into the town.
Ten hours later or so, I took this.
I finally got cable release here. If you should with the 40D series you should seriously consider getting one. Or if you shoot with the 450D series get yours here. They work great and are super cheap.
Yes, every once in awhile its good to turn off the crackberry, unplug the modem and slow down
Thanks for the link. I shoot the 40D and this sounds like a deal. One of the reviewers said the build was on the cheap side (it arrived in half and he had to superglue it). I currently use the self timer to get night shots. It works pretty well, but this would definitely be handy.
For some reason my first impression of the photo was that it was somehow representing the opposite of laid back. It seems like night is rushing to be over with…again just my first impression. It seemed kind of contradictory, haha. Let me guess, that’s about a 12 minute exposure?
Justin: Well maybe it’s rushing compared to Northern Minnesota. Do even the stars run slow up there?
17 minutes, pretty close.
actually they don’t run at all. hah
Josh, the problem with just using the timer is that you can’t do bulb exposures over 30 seconds without touching the camera.
hey, we’re sitting here at work and hilda is DYING to see the wedding pix (especially their ‘making out’ session! lol:P
so we were wondering if your gonna post them before you leave? pretty please?!
i suppose i can show her mine too, but don’t have them here…
Wow, cool stuff! Your photos of the waterfall a few posts back were so cool. I could almost feel the water.
