I think most of you know but our family has moved into a rural community in Partridge, KS or Hutchinson. Hutchinson is the largest town within 30 min. of Partridge. Visit Miriam to get a report on the weather in Hutchinson, KS area.

I was in the market walking behind this monk in white, and suddenly the idea hit me to try a 1/5s exposure to show the motion of his gait. I knew I had to get the settings right, quickly, because I was running out of time, as you can see the exit to the market was about 50 ft ahead.

Little Giant

This one was taken with a new technique I learned from a friend. The idea is simple, all I did was turn my 50 mm 1.8 lens around and focused by moving the camera or lens either in or out. This image is uncropped, so you are seeing the actual magnification that this method provides.

I used selective color on this one to emphasize the vibrant color in the bee’s eyes and body.
