I welcome you to challenge that. But it still is. All the beautiful architecture and landscaping and parks and bike trails and stonework and sculptures, modern and otherwise, and cherry blossoms and water and lights and the list could go on and on.
On Saturday I got the chance to visit the National Cathedral. The exterior, interior and surrounding grounds of which are simply breathtaking.

Come and See
I was thinking as I was walking in and out of the cathedral that we are like stained glass windows. From the outside the windows look black, fractured, and drab. From the inside when you see the light pouring through the windows, it is a beautiful work of a master artist, seeming to radiate with light, and broadcasting The Word into the dark corners of the world. In the same way, we are only as beautiful and useful as we allow Christ and His Light to be poured through our lives.
